Beyond transnational access, the successor of the Laserlab-Europe project provides comprehensive training opportunities, equipping users with both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in laser technologies and applications.     <title>Revolutionising medical imaging: fastMOT proposes light sensing solution for non-invasive imaging of deep organ structures</title>

    <description>With its innovative fast gated, ultra-high quantum efficiency single-photon sensor, the fastMOT project will enable deep body imaging with diffuse optics. Implemented in the new Multifunctional Optical Tomograph, the light sensor will achieve a 100x improvement of signal-to-noise ratio compared to using existing light sensors. The fastMOT project will receive a total of 3 million euro in funding: 2.49 million euro from the European Innovation Council programme and 525,000 Euro from the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) under the UK government’s Horizon Europe funding guarantee.</description>

    <title>Laser research community THRILLed — Ten million euro funding for high-repetition-rate laser technology developments</title>

    <description>The THRILL (Technology for High-Repetition-rate Intense Laser Laboratories) project received more than ten million euro of funding in the framework of the European Union’s HORIZON EUROPE program. The project aims at providing new designs and high-performance components for high-energy high-repetition-rate lasers, enabling the technical readiness level required to specify and build the needed devices. This work improves the performance, the energy efficiency and reliability in operation of such lasers at the partnering research institutions. Nine companies and research institutes coordinated by GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung in Darmstadt participate in THRILL’s efforts.</description>

    <title>A Fruitful Collaboration: Report of a Laserlab-Europe Staff Exchange at the Prague Asterix Laser System (PALS)</title>

    <description>Dr. Michael Ehret (CLPU), Dr. Jakub Cikhardt (CTU) and Dr. Philip Bradford (CELIA) took part in a Laserlab-Europe staff exchange at the Prague Asterix Laser System (PALS) in the Czech Republic in September 2022. In this article, P. Bradford recounts their time in Prague, where they have been working on developing a high-performance current and voltage probe for use on a range of high power laser facilities. The result of the fruitful collaboration: The construction of three new current probes, as well as the training received by CLPU and CELIA researchers, will enable the Laserlab Expert Groups to measure laser-driven currents easily at several major international laser facilities.</description>
